Google Android to Threaten Microsoft in the Netbook Market

You may have already heard of the Google Android operating system, it was originally designed to run on modern mobile “smart” phones. However, with the advent of the netbook (small ultra portable laptop like devices) there has been interest in porting Android onto these machines. Why would someone want to run cell phone software on a computer? For starters the software runs very well without much hardware horsepower. Apple Announces iWork ’09 Free Trial.

Apple announced today a 30 day free trial of iWork ’09.  Available Here

The computer “office” market is currently dominated Microsoft’s Office 2007.  Available Here as a 60 day free trial.  It is doubtful that iWork ’09 will make any serious inroads into what has become a very lucrative corporate market.  However, it should appease the Mac faithful and dampen any movement towards open source products like Open Office which is available freely.
