Should The US Lift the Embargo On Cuba? Yes!

For close to 46 years the United States has imposed sanctions against Cuba and what has that embargo brought about in the way of change? Nothing really. The embargo could only be called a success if its goal were to draw the Soviet Union and Cuba. Alas that is something that no one wanted, at least no one in the US. The communist government in Cuba still exists to this day, the only ones who really suffered were the citizens of the country. Prior to the the embargo per capita income in Cuba was on par with Italy and higher than Japan at the time. Now their economy is in ruins, malnutrition and poor living conditions are the norm.

Obama’s First 100 Days Will Be A “Failure”

Before you get all defensive because someone is calling Obama’s first 100 days a failure please realize this article is hardly about putting down President Obama.  However with that said, there are people that will say he has failed to live up to the hype.  For starters of course, he hasn’t walked on water a single time.  That alone seems to be enough to dismay some people.  On a more serious note; the issue at the forefront of the politics, the economy, is not one which can be meaningfully changed in only 100 days.

SF Transit Shooting: What went wrong? (Video Here)

By now you have probably seen the video.  It’s difficult to watch, a man is taken and pushed to the ground.  Then while another officer is knelling on him he is shot in the back.  How could something like this happen?  Some are saying that perhaps the officer was going for his taser and instead grabbed his gun in the heat of the moment.  It certainly doesn’t excuse what happened though.  Police had the man outnumbered 2-1.  Granted the man should not have been resisting but lethal force is not an acceptable course of action when someone is resisting and you outnumber them.

See for yourself:
